Maple Grove Country Club, one of Wisconsin’s more mature golf courses, continues to challenge even the seasoned golfer with unmatched character and charm. Maple Grove was designed and constructed as a nine hole golf course on 250 acres in 1929, while the second nine was added in 1963.
The two nines compliment each other like no other. The front 9, a par 35, boasts wide tree-lined fairways, gentle rolling hills and over-sized lush greens and tees. Playing to 3,000 yards each hole is completely unique. Featuring back-to-back signature holes you’ll never forget. Hole #5 overlooks miles and miles of Wisconsin’s natural beauty. Teeing off from an elevated box this par four measures 405 yards and must carry Arrowhead Lake to land in a narrowing fairway. Hole #6, known as “The Hill,” is one of those holes that you’ll either love or hate. A perfectly placed tee shot will position you on top of the hill only 80 to 100 yards from a beautifully sculpted green nestled in a wall of aged pines. To carry this hurdle takes a smooth swing and a bag full of courage. Many golfer’s agree that to concur this magnificent hole is one of life’s greatest accomplishments.
As for most who have played Maple Grove and been cuddled by the front nine the back nine is sure to give you a wake up call. Know by locals as the beast, it is arguable the most difficult nine in the entire coulee region. This nine features a plethora of obstacles – tight fairways, water hazards, large bunkers, undulating greens and most notably an additional 485 yards in length. The average golfer will just love the variety of challenges this nine offers.
Maple Grove is nestled among the rolling hills and bluffs of LaCrosse County and has a long tradition of providing quality golf. With the completion of its new club house facility and recreational center it’s fast becoming one of Western Wisconsin’s #1 golf getaways. Come visit us and experience Wisconsin’s best kept secret.

Tiger Woods Golf on the Wii
Maple Grove has installed a Nintendo Wii in the Sports Bar! Now, when it is raining during your tee time, come on out to Maple Grove and play a round of golf with your foursome on Tiger Woods Golf on the Wii. Good News for the Lower Back 9!
The DOT has started dredging Pleasant Valley Creek along Interstate 90. This should significantly drop the water level on the lower back nine holes. The DOT anticipates a drop in water level of almost 2 feet! Also, work is starting on replacing the retaining wall on hole #5.
